Mike Love

Mike Love is a musician devoted to revolution through sound. Born in O’ahu, Hawai’i to a family of musicians, Mike has used music as a conversation for as long as he can remember. He comes from a unique convergence of influences, all bound by their ambition to inspire positive change in the world. Love releases his music independently on his own Love Not War Records label, and his sound, while rooted in the spirituality and message-based music of roots reggae, fuses a variety of influences including progressive and classic rock, soul, blues, flamenco, jazz, classical, and more.

Love started playing guitar at the age of 15, and soon after began performing live. Furthering his talents as a composer/lyricist and arranger, he then fronted the 10-piece band Dubkonscious, entering into his first studio experience as producer on the band’s album At the Foot of the Mountain.

He then started to hone what has now become an internationally recognized, power-packed, one-man-band style show, using looping, multiple instruments and an array of different vocal techniques and musical styles to create a full and powerful sound that belies the fact that he is on stage alone . His solo performances have since taken him to some of the largest stages in the world.

Satsang (Drew Solo Set)

“Montana isn’t just where I live,” says Satsang’s Drew McManus. “It’s my heart, my soul. Along with my family, it’s my everything.”

It’s little wonder, then, that the state played such a pivotal role in inspiring ‘All Right Now,’ Satsang’s extraordinary new album and debut release for venerated indie label Side One Dummy. Written and recorded during an extended hiatus from the road, the record finds McManus reconnecting with his western roots and exploring a whole new palette of sounds and textures, drawing on classic country and modern Americana to forge a joyful, rustic collection all about letting go and living in the moment. McManus produced the album himself, and while the songs here are certainly honest and deeply personal, they’re written in a spiritual language that taps into something far more universal, something inherent in the human condition that binds us as brothers and sisters on a shared journey to find ourselves and our place in this world. The performances and arrangements are broad and spacious to match, reflecting the wide-open fields and soaring mountains that surrounded the band during the whirlwind recording process, and the result is a lush, organic collection fueled by acoustic guitars, fiddle, and pedal steel, a warm, inviting record that hints at everything from Uncle Tupelo and The Jayhawks to Gregory Alan Isakov and The Head and the Heart as it meditates on the power—and the pull—of home.

Passafire

Passafire’s single, Keepin’ On, serves as a mission statement for the veteran rock-reggae outfit as they continue to forge ahead through their second decade of reimagining the boundaries of the current rock-reggae landscape. Unflinchingly optimistic, Keepin’ On shows off what Passafire does best: expertly blending the macro/political and the micro/personal. The rock-steady anthem weaves together Passafire’s take on global warming, economic uncertainty, and technology’s threat to personal privacy with the band’s dedication to survival, intent on thriving by any means necessary.

“We are very grateful to be where we’re at with awesome fans that sustain and support us,” said Passafire’s bassist Will Kubley. “But every band wants to get to the next level” quickly pointed out lead guitarist/lead singer Ted Bowne. “We keep reaching new milestones and having new meaningful events, but we still have many ambitions we want to achieve. So we’ve got to keep going until we do.”

Passafire released their 7th full length album, STRATA, in September 2021 on their own independent label, Flameguy Records. You can find Passafire on tour now in support of the release.

Since forming in 2003, Passafire has released a total of six studio albums and boasts credits like producing with Paul Leary (Sublime, Pepper, U2, Slightly Stoopid), #1 albums on both the Billboard and iTunes Reggae charts, and sharing stages with rock-reggae OGs 311 and Pepper, and legends Toots & the Maytals, the Wailers, and John Brown’s Body, who in the band’s early years, inspired them to explore reggae with a gritty edge.

“We like to mix tight, clean reggae grooves with distorted guitar riffs” insisted Ted, “We’re ‘90s kids,” added Will, “we love rock, hip-hop and metal equally. It was always natural for us to straddle the line between genres.”

Passafire’s name is a take-off on The Wailers’ classic Catch a Fire album and the band’s hypervigilance towards honoring the culture without appropriating it combined with their unwavering dedication to the expansion of their skills as musicians, producers and songwriters, has led the band to create a sound that stands out from their peers.

Paul Izak

Paul Izak was born and raised on the Hawaiian Islands and currently lives it up on the Island of Oahu.  Paul has been discovering his own voice and unique sound as a singer/songwriter since 2004.  As a young boy, Paul was no stranger to the main stage, performing as a vocal soloist in choruses since 2nd grade.   He then became an impersonator of famous artists like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Louis, and Neil Diamond.  He performed around the island with the Honolulu Boys Choir.  Through intermediate and high school years, he began to shift interests towards acting, photography, sports, & film production, his vocal talent was put aside. During these years, he began to find a new voice through his harmonica.  His inspiration came from his uncle Brian, a local blues harmonica player, and other blues musicians around the island. He quickly found a new sense of freedom through the harmonica.

During his first year of college, Paul began learning guitar and finding his own sound, which can best be described as a Folk, Blues, Rock, Reggae combination. In 2006, while living on the Island of Lana’i, Paul began playing hand drums.  This later led him to establishing a drum circle on Kailua Beach for three years. These drum circles allowed Paul to connect with the community through the freedom of unlimited creative expression weekly.  Bringing together the community in a conscious way led to the monthly Yogarden Music Gatherings, an all ages, artistic/music event.  Paul’s passion for yoga, gardening, and music set the foundation for these gatherings. During 2005-2013, Paul was the lead singer/harmonica/percussion player for local Hawaiian reggae band Pressure Drop, winners of the Mai Tai Rumble in 2010.

His love for music continues to grow, just like his garden. Representing a healthy and simplistic life, Paul is a believer in honoring yourself as an individual so that you may better contribute to your community through healthy sustainable practices. This is the message you get through Paul’s music, as he practices what he preaches.

Indubious

(Friday Pre-Party)

The story of Indubious is not for the faint of heart. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Indubious was forged in the fires of pain and destruction. Evton and Skip, brothers and bandmates born with Cystic Fibrosis and convinced by doctors of their impending death from an early age, have emerged as a powerful force for change and the future of conscious music. Currently based in Oregon, Indubious has released five albums over the past few years, including Wake The Lion which was produced by EDM/Dub/Reggae pioneer Gaudi. Their new album Beleaf, released summer 2019, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and #2 on iTunes Reggae Chart. Recess

Recess came to be in early 2008. They started off, with Vincent (the band’s lead vocalist) being only 8 years old, as a bunch of kids performing cover songs in the basement of a small 3 bedroom house on Boundary Lane in Parma, Ohio. As they improved and grew musically, performing at numerous venues and festivals across the States, Recess began to create and write their own music. Through many songs and peculiar situations / events, the band finally had created 5 songs in which they felt really reflected them and their sound. These 5 songs can be found on Recess’s first EP intentionally named “Boundary Lane”.

Recess completed their second EP, “From Dust to Gold”, and released their premiere music video with director Brad Golowin for the EP’s first single called “Leaving Home” on 7/26/18 which was immediately featured on the premiere music blog for emerging artists Kings of A&R.

During the pandemic, Recess performed virtually at the Canadian Music Fest and Finsperry Music Fest in the UK.  In 2021, Recess was a finalist in Goodyear’s Rock Hall Garage to Glory contest which is a great prerequisite to their soon to be released 3rd EP.

From performing at iconic venues such as the Viper Room, the House of Blues, and Black River Landing, to their television appearances on both New York City’s “Wonderama” and Topgolf’s “Who Will Rock You?”, Recess continues to enrapture audiences and bombard the music industry with their unique original music and lively stage presence.

Dacota Muckey & The Trip

“I had the pleasure of meeting & playing some music with Dacota at Shangri-La Music Festival and was thoroughly impressed. His songs are lyrically driven, songs about self empowerment, growth, and self activation. Underneath his poetic couplets is an phenomenal grip on his guitar, melodies and chords built in between confident riffs and challenging finger work. And all this shines no brighter than his voice. A textural gift of rasp and soul. A voice that cuts through you while putting you at ease. I was truly in awe while watching his artistry unfold, and am only surprised with the idea that more people have not heard his work. Because more people should. A true talent.” -Karl Vincet of Satsang

Dacota’s raw, powerful, honest voice drew me in from the moment I heard it. I followed the heralding sound to find him bearing his soul around a fire to a group of jaw dropped witnesses hanging on every note. It was then that I knew I was in the presence of something special. I’ve been a huge fan of this young, unique, passionate, rising soul brother ever since, and if you’re into real music from a huge heart, you’ll be too. –Reed Grimm

Sierra Marin

Sierra Marin comes from San Diego, Ca and currently lives on the Big Island of Hawaii.   After receiving her Bachelore’s degree at UC Santa Barbara in Psychology and Indigenous Studies, Sierra realized that working toward something that she did not believe in in support of a corrupt system in need of change was completely contrary to who she was. So after college she hit the road. Finding much of her roots in street performing, she travelled the U.S. for two years entirely supported by  her income from playing at markets and on street corners. She experienced first hand the incredible power of intentional music to free and heal humanity.

Sierra uses her voice to speak for the Earth mother, for the ascension of humanity into a state of harmony. She speaks for the revolution of unconditional love which begins within and ripples out into this world. She speaks of the importance of community, permaculture, and symbiotic innovation for the betterment of all.

Music is medicine for the soul and a powerful tool for our liberation as individuals as well as for the entire planet. Sierra Marin’s mission is to remind humanity of their divinity and perfection. To remind the people that WE are the ones we’ve been waiting for. It’s up to us to remember who we are and to be the change we want to see in this world.
